I have had chronic lower back and leg pain for over a year. It comes on as soon as I lay down at night. I have had fusion of L.3, 4 and 5 which also give pain.

I place one pad over the extreme pain site at my hip and knee and I now get fantastic pain relief. I was on Pethadine, Volterol and Diazapam and now manage with the occasional Volterol.

It seems to me that it only helps nerve pain and not backache associated with spinal fusion

tk you for sharing about the TENS…I was seeking info about that for my sis who has an arthritic spine.

I would also like to suggest you consider learning about Reiki, the Japanese modality of healing that brings great relief for pain of all: Body-mind-spirit! It is a wonderful way to ‘find oneself’ and find the right paths upon which to place you feet and walk in freedom from the black shadows of the past while healing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pain…I am 76 yrs old and can testify that for the first 55 years of life, I suffered depression as well as many ailments and physical pain from falls and whiplashes.

I even have 15 years remission from breast cancer, without chemo or radiation, having followed a wholistic path of lifestyle. I do not claim Reiki cured my cancer, but I do credit it for my good judgements, right choices, and a joyful attitude towards life and my state of wellness today. You seem very level headed yet pain is pain...If you wish to know about Reiki,

... One of its foremost properties is that it relieves pain.

While I live in USA, there are Reiki practitioners all around the globe who will testify to what I am saying. Here in the USA Reiki has proven itself so much that over 112 hospitals have it available.

Sincerely yours in healing, Margaret Lee

I'm 63 and have had lower back pain for two years. The doctor initially put me on anti-inflamitory and pain pills. Eventually got some physio. This did very little to relieve the pain or problem, even with doing all the exercises. I've had regular massage and acupunture. This seemed to tickle the problem. However the end result is that I have become more and more lame. Three days ago a friend lent me his Tens Machine. I have to say the initial results have been no short of miraculous! I still have a slight soreness in the knee joint but the muscles in the upper and lowerv leg have become far more flexible. I suspect they have been in spasm all this time and the Tens is certainly helping the relief of soreness and lameness. Thanks for reading this. smile

Yeah tens machines are great. You should definitely think about buying one. Body Clock has a really good range. They are a premier supplier worldwide with excellent customer service (and they are based in Uk so shipping is free). They have a TENS called 'Libra' which has a lot of features and is really good price compared to others on the market which are not as good.

Id get one if i were u!
