Swollen legs and feet

After taking amlodipine for only 2 weeks my feet and lower legs swelled to twice their normal size: I have stopped taking the drug and am still waiting for my legs to go back to their normal size! I still cannot get my shoes on!

This is awful for you! I really hope this disappears soon!

I have been taking 5mg, now increased to 10mg Amlodipine for 4 weeks and my ankles have swollen a great deal, plus my knees are red and hot and swollen which means I cannot bend them! My BP has not yet gone down - I feel very tempted to stop taking the tablets today!!

Also my joints seem to ache now!

I have now been on these tablets for about six weeks. All of sudden my legs feel like there burning on the inside around my knees if this right?

I've been on amlopodine 5mg for a month now, and have experienced swelling in my feet and knees which is resulting in my waddling about like a duck. Thank goodness for this website which I came across by accident, as I thought it was all in my imagination. Although my BP isn't excessively high, the doctor felt I should take these tablets as my BP was slightly high on the last two visits, (12 months apart). I think I will ditch these tablets, and put my faith into exercise, which is supposed to help lower BP.
