I am anxious to hear from anyone suffering from sweating which appears to be comnnected to my diabetes. I am constantly having to change clothing and bedding. This is not light sweating but profuse. Thank you.

    Hi Mell

I too suffered from almost constant sweats, morning, noon & night-time. Didn't know what was causing them diabetes or just 'my age'? Once I'd given up trying to control my type 2 diabetes by diet and started the Metformin the sweats disappeared, just like magic.

Have just been diagnosed with a 'fatty liver' due to the diabetes and have been prescribed Orlistat to loose weight.

Is there anyone else with type 2 and trying to cope with a low sugar diet alongside the orlistat restriced fat diet

Would appreciate any advice about coping with both from someone with first hand experience.

    Womom

Hi Mell, I have suffered with terrible night sweats for several years, I too have to change the bedding and night clothes.I never suffer the condition during the daytime though?

The sweating only occurs to the top half of my body i.e. from waist up. I can feel the sweat running across my skin & often need to get up and wipe myself down with a towel. I started to put a bathtowel on top of the sheet I lie on when I am going through a sweating spell.

I find the sweating will come and go for no apparent reason, some times it may last for many weeks then suddenly stop for months, the again start for no obvious reason. My doctor has no explantion to give me?

I have been suffering from daytime hot flushes and night sweats for a couple of years now. I assumed that it was perimenopausal symptoms as I have just turned 49. I even saw a GP about it and she just recommended over the counter herbal remedies :?

A couple of weeks ago I saw the nurse about something else and mentioned that I was getting recurrent and persistent thrush she suggested that I book in for a fasting blood test. I have now been diagnosed with Diabetes type 2 and prescribed Metformin.

It was only whilst reading your thread that I realised that my night sweats have stopped and the hot flushes reduced since I started taking Metformin.
