Ramipril and Alcohol

I am 61 diabetic Type 2 (on Metformin and Ramipril 5mg) and have lived in Spain since Jan 2007 when we both retired. My wife complains of mood swings and aggression. I have constant headaches and cough. Was upgraded to 5mg from 2.5mg in Oct 2007. Of course living in Spain has meant an increase in alcohol which I know it says you should avoid. I am not an alcoholic and in fact have now ceased drinking. Has anyone else similar experience? even better is there a medical person who can comment?

    I identify with having mood swings and possibly a ggression, saying awful things which has effected my marital relationship

    i also have mood swings,snapping at people over nothing.i am on 10mg aday due to kidney problems.iv taken them since 21years old and im 28 now,iv always put off consulting my doc about it thinking i could deal with the problem myself but am seeing doc next week because starting to put strain on my relationship.mike

    I KNOW THIS IS A BIT THICK BUT WHAT IS HIGHER DOSE, 1.25 MG OR 5?

    Is it 5mg (ie 5.0mg) or .5mg (ie 0.5mg)? If 5mg then this is a higher dose than 1.25mg. If .5mg then it is a lower dose than 1.25mg
